Updated October 1, 2018 – If you want to learn to cook we have some cooking classes in Dallas and the metro for you to choose from.

I love food, but I’ve got a love/hate relationship with delicious things. I like to cook SOMEtimes, but I enjoy far more the talents of the true artiste. That said, I’m no slouch in the kitchen but my skills could use some brushing up, particularly with cuts of meat.

Nothing wrong with branching out my repertoire in general, too. I mean, how many times can a person make elbow macaroni with meat sauce and call it goulash? Yes, THAT many times. So here are a few places for cooking classes in Dallas where you, me and other foodies can learn a cooking thing or two.

Laura’s Natural Kitchen

  • Take cooking classes here if you are interested in natural foods

Are you and your significant other trying to eat healthier? This might be a great class for you! Laura is a holistic nutritionist and natural foods chef who shares her knowledge about healthy eating during this cooking class.

Location: 712 May St., 817-870-1931, Website

These classes are for any kitchen experience level. You will enjoy Laura’s personalized cooking class focused on whole, unprocessed foods. She also will do team building exercises such as those on Chopped or Top Chef.

Team Building with Taste

  • Take a class here if you are ready for a competition

Think Chopped! without being eliminated. It’s a combination of cooking class and game of elimination. If you bring your work team, birthday party or family reunion in there, you are put on teams, given a recipe, shown where all the ingredients are and timed. The gonzo Team Building with Taste staff are there to help you, and sometimes hinder you (for fun). You have to work together with your own team as well as beat the clock. The judges are the staff so they are fully impartial on their scoring system: taste, creativity, and plating. They’ll give you pointers and guidance, and they’ll tailor the event for any skill level. You get upfront training, of course, and you get to sit and enjoy the meals everyone has made at the end. Costs range from $30 to $65 per person depending on the size of the meals.
